NK's Week In Review

We round up the top stories of the week from North Kingstown.

A few stories haven't made it over to the new site yet, including a story about the Town Council's consideration of a temporary diet for Post Road, and another popular story about whether or not NK has enough pizza places. Fingers crossed, those stories will migrate soon.

Police Log: More Mother Trouble

Police arrested a West Warwick woman for willful trespassing and disorderly conduct after returning to her daughter’s apartment complex after being arrested for trespassing there on Sunday, June 16. She was repeatedly verbally hostile and refused to leave, insisting she would only leave if with her daughter and granddaughters were with her.

Old Town House To Be Moved

The Old Town House at 136 West Main Street is moving. Owned by the Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford, the historic structure will find a new home on Phillips Street near Boone Street, according to Cranston-Murphy managing director Andrew Correia. It will be given to the town to benefit town residents.

New Features and a New Look for NK Patch

Welcome to the new Patch! We’re really pleased with it and we think you’ll like it, too. First of all, we think the site looks livelier, and more like North Kingstown. See that big photo on the top of the site? That’s Wickford Harbor from from Brown Street.

Thanks R.I. State Senate For Arts Tax-Exemption

NK's Ellen Waxman writes, "We're about to shape history, and become America's first state in the country to declare a statewide tax-exemption on the arts. This is something to celebrate!"
