Man Killed At EB Worked For Company Doing Construction Work There

The man who died Monday after an accident at Electric Boat at Quonset was working for a company doing construction at the site, according to an EB spokesman. The man has not been identified.

Robert Hamilton of Electric Boat said Tuesday the man worked for a subcontractor involved in building construction at the Quonset site. Because the man was not an employee of EB, Hamilton said EB would not be releasing any additional information.

According to North Kingstown Deputy Fire Chief Robert Giglietti, the 60-year-old man appeared to have been electrocuted. NK Fire responded to the scene with an engine just after 11 a.m. Monday, as did a rescue truck from East Greenwich, the EB Fire Marshal, and the National Guard, Giglietti said. North Kingstown's two rescue trucks were out on other calls.

The man was receiving CPR when firefighters arrived. CPR was continued on the man while EG rescue took him to Kent Hospital, said EG Deputy Fire Chief Russell McGillivray.
