First Day Of School? It's Aug. 27
Don't panic – we've still got lots of summer left, but the new school year begins Tuesday, Aug. 27.
It's August and, sadly, we know what that means: the first day of school is closing in. This year, in North Kingstown, the first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 27. Students (and parents!) will be able to ease back in with two four-day weeks to start the year. For the second week, there's no school on Monday Sept. 2, Labor Day.
If you have a kindergartner or if your family is new to the district, there are orientation sessions on Thursday, Aug. 22. For kindergarteners, orientation is from 9 to 10 a.m. For families new to the district it's 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
For students going to Hamilton, classroom assignments will be posted and classroom folders distributed from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.
