The issue of electronics in cars presents interesting questions about corporations' ethical responsibilities.... with apparently no oversight - Japanese companies are touting "kits" that override the front seat GPS map to turn it into TV for drivers - article below - http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323296504578397020440247856.html

ReplyYes, it is constitutional under our country's First Amendment which states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." As Mr. Brown alluded to in Liz's article, government cannot discriminate against speech when they rent their premises. The US Supreme Court has addressed this issue. See eg, Good News Club v. Milford Central School, 533 U.S. 98 (2001)(when a government operates a "limited public forum," it may not discriminate against speech that takes place within that forum on the basis of the viewpoint it expresses).

ReplyHi Alicarn and ru4real.... Likely, ru4real is correct. The typical practice is for municipal Courts to take the "good driving record" people first. The traffic tribunal has a form referencing this statute that is here:

Interesting libertarian viewpoints. I wonder how you all feel about about the NTSB's advocacy of lowering the BAC laws down to .05%: http://personal-injury-ri.tumblr.com/post/50451061507/ri-car-accident-lawyer-government-agency-urges
