Carolyn Bolton is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island and began her journalism career while a student at Geneva College, a small liberal arts college just north of Pittsburgh. While there, Bolton worked for The Cabinet, the Geneva College student newspaper, serving as its features and assistant editor, respectively. After graduating cum laude in December of 2009 with a bachelor's degree in political communications, Bolton honed her writing skills in Washington, D.C. while an intern for the National Journalism Center and The Washington Times. More recently, Bolton completed a four-month journalism fellowship at the Santa Barbara News-Press. Now back in her hometown, she looks forward to writing for Patch and spending time in her beloved Ocean State.
