Letter: Zorro Gets a Brand New Beginning
An open letter to North Kingstown residents who helped save a lost dog.
The day was just like the day before for little Zorro, that 1st of February. It was time for his outing into the yard. That day, who knows: something very common could’ve scared him or it could just be he realized how large the outside world really was and became frightened. Zorro fought his harness and slipped away from his foster guardian. The woods behind his foster home gave plenty of cover to run. This was the beginning of Zorro’s trek across North Kingstown and 10 days of wandering through the snow, brush and areas known only to a little, cold, frightened dog. Zorro is a puppy mill survivor. He was rescued from a puppy mill by Friends of Homeless Animals, Inc. His story is quite sad. A volunteer attended an auction for no longer …
