Mongillo was ordered to serve a year at the ACI, retroactive to Oct. 31, 2012, followed by four years probation and a four-year suspended sentence. Mongillo was also ordered to pay $575 in assessments and to complete domestic abuse counseling. According to police, a local teenager is accusing Richard Tomlinson, 48, of sexually assaulting her repeatedly when she was 11.
Information on this arrest was culled from files at South Kingstown Police Department, Narragansett Police Department and Washington County Superior Court. Richard D. Tomlinson Jr., 48, of 908 Boston Neck Road, Apt. #16, Narragansett, was arrested at about 4:01 p.m. on March 10. Narragansett police said a warrant was out for Tomlinson’s arrest. According to the charges filed at Washington County Superior Court, Tomlinson faces four felony charges – three counts of second degree child molestation, and one count of first degree child molestion. South Kingstown police said that in October 2012, a 19-year-old North Kingstown woman filed a report – claiming that Tomlinson had molested her several times. State medical examiner William Cox testifies that bruising to the chest, neck and under the eyelids proves continued manual strangulation killed Camden Fry.
Camden Fry’s death was no accident but instead homicide, according to testimony from medical examiner William Cox who performed the 8-year-old girl’s autopsy. Cox testified that the girl died as a result of manual strangulation, the pressure from which was applied to her neck over an extended period of time. Compression must have been applied to the 8-year-old girl's neck for at least four to six minutes in order for death or even serious injury to occur, Cox testified in Kimberly Fry's second-degree murder trial. She is accused of strangling her daughter on Aug. 10, 2009 during a temper tantrum over the girl's refusal to take a bath. WAKEFIELD – A North Kingstown man pleaded on Tuesday in Washington County Superior Court to a charge of felony assault against another resident at Burger King and was ordered to pay more than $8,000 in medical costs. Cody Cirelli, 18, of 1275 Old Baptist Road, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of felony assault. In return for his plea, a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed. Superior Court Associate Justice ordered Cirelli to pay $8,381.58 in restitution to the victim for medical costs. Nyles Kruger, 53, pleads to charges connected to accounting irregularities in the North Kingstown High School athletic department.
WAKEFIELD – A North Kingstown man was ordered to serve 18 months at the ACI and to pay about $6,000 in restitution and court assessments for various bad check charges. Nyles Kruger, 53, of 5D Caddy Rock Road, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest Friday to three North Kingstown and Rhode Island State Police charges of counterfeiting and forgery. In return for his plea, an additional charge of issuing fraudulent checks greater than $1,000 was dismissed. Superior Court Associate Justice Edwin Gale ordered Kruger to serve an 18-month sentence at the ACI, followed by an eight and a half years of probation. Kevin M. Barden, 36, pleads to a charge of waving an unlicensed handgun at his neighbors during a dispute over trespassing on his property.
WAKEFIELD – A North Kingstown man was ordered to surrender a handgun as part of a plea agreement Monday in Washington County Superior Court after allegedly waving it at neighbors. Kevin M. Barden, 36, of 120 Catherine Dr. pleaded no contest to a felony charge of carrying a pistol without a license. The charge stems from an arrest in March, when Barden got into a fight with his neighbors over the boundaries of their properties. Superior Court Associate Justice Edwin Gale ordered Barden to surrender his handgun, to donate $250 to the Violent Crimes Indemnity Fund and to pay $700 in assessments.
