5 Things: Blood Drive, Bowling & Rolling Greens

Five things to know for Feb. 18.

1.  Head over to Great Harvest Bread today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a blood drive. Donate blood and receive a loaf of honey whole wheat. 2.  Tomorrow night, the North Kingstown Planning Commission will discuss alternative layout options for The Preserve at Rolling Greens. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at town hall. 3.  Head over to Kingstown Bowl's Club Roxx for the North Kingstown Chamber's joint business after hours with Twenty40. Beverages, light refreshments, networking and bowling are all included. Tickets are $8 for members and $15 for non-members. 4.  On Wednesday, the North Kingstown School Committee meets at 7 p.m. at the high school. 5 Things: Post-Apocalyptic Bash, Cupcakes & Blogging

Five things to know for Jan. 17.

1.  To celebrate the fact that we made it through the Mayan doomsday prediction, Twenty40 (North Kingstown's young professionals group) is holding a Post-Apocalyptic Bash next week. Join us from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Updike's Newtowne today. Wildwood Catering will be providing food for the evening. 2.  The NKHS Class of 2015 is still looking for teams for its Cupcake War, coming up on Feb. 15. Groups of contestants will bake themed cupcakes and have them judged on various criteria. Head over to the North Kingstown Free Library on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. as rare book dealer Ray Rickman offers his thoughts and insights in this interactive "Antiques Roadshow" style program. Bring two books for a free evaluation. Please register for this event. 2.  CVS and Rite Aid are out of flu shots, but you can still get vaccinated in town. 1.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, Twenty40's Harvest Fest – is being pushed back to Thursday, Oct. 18.
