NK, EG Shell Stations Robbed; Suspects at Large
Police are calling the incident, which took place at around 5 a.m. Monday, a "strong-arm robbery."
A cashier at the East Side Food Mart Shell at 2563 South County Trail in East Greenwich was held up at around 5 a.m. Monday, police report. At around 11 p.m. Sunday, another Shell Station in North Kingstown was also held up. The suspect walked into the EG store and handed the cashier a note that demanded cash, according to Det. Lieutenant Jay Fague. "He did not speak a word. He was in and out in a couple of minutes." Fague called it a strong-arm robbery – no weapon was shown but the suspect had a hand in one of his pockets as if armed. The person was so covered that it wasn't completely clear it was a man, although the cashier said she thought so based on the suspect's eyes. Police are describing the suspect as "an unknown male."
