Two NK Residents Dead In Rollover Crash In EG

East Greenwich police confirm that all four occupants of the truck that crashed early Sunday morning were from North Kingstown.

Two are dead and two are hospitalized after a pickup truck with four passengers hit a utility pole on Shippeetown Road in East Greenwich and rolled over. The accident happened just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning. The car was heading south on Shippeetown from Division Street. According to EG Fire Chief Peter Henrikson, two people were ejected from the truck. One of those was pronounced dead on the scene, the other was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. "We had to spend a considerable amount of time extricating the two others," he said. The truck was upsidedown and the cab was crushed.
