Free Eco-Depot Coming to NK
Dispose of your household hazardous waste properly at September's Eco-Depot in North Kingstown.
We all know we shouldn't toss our used fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermometers, used motor oil, antifreeze and other hazardous household waste out in the kitchen trash can – but where are we supposed to dispose of them? Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) is hosting a free Eco-Depot collection on Sept. 8 for all Rhode Island residents to dispose of special hazardous waste from their homes. The special collection will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Kingstown Public Works Department at 2050 Davisville Road. RIRRC collects household hazardous waste separately from the state's central landfill in Johnston in order to protect humans, animals and the local environment.
