Northup (Leach), 67, of North Kingstown, formerly of Warwick, passed away peacefully May 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Louis H. Northup. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Frances M. (McGovern) Leach. Mrs. Northup was a third generation self-employed hairdresser, following a family tradition. She also worked as a secretary for Herb Chambers and Tarbox. She enjoyed traveling and idealized her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church. "Skip" Rose, 68, of Wickford, died peacefully at home, due to complications of diabetes, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Crooks) Rose. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of Barbara F. (Eccleston) Rose of West Palm Beach, FL and the late Norman L. Rose (Chief NKFD). North Kingstown native and mother of five passed away on May 20.

Cecelia May Winsor (formerly Fowler) passed away peacefully upon reaching her 88th birthday on Monday, May 20th, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marlene F. (Refold) Bailen. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Samuel and Sadie (Parker) Bailen. He graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a BA in Business Administration. A twenty-four year Veteran of the US Navy, Mr. Bailen served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. She was the beloved wife of the late Army Colonel Arthur Joseph Desmarais, to whom she was married for over 50 years.  Helen was born and raised in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Nora and Alfred McNally. She attended St. Patrick's parish school and graduated from the Dominican Academy. Following high school, she worked in the Payroll Department for the Fall River Knitting Mill and during World War II, she worked at the US Post Office, and at the Firestone Company inspecting gas masks. James Michael Grennan of Glenwood Drive in North Kingstown passed away Saturday, April 27 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. He was 56 years old. Former postmaster of the Saunderstown Post Office Lucille Bragg passed away this week.

She was 84 years old. Bragg was born on August 17, 1928 in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Marie Brindamour and Benonie LaPerche. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Bragg to whom she was married for 53 years.  She worked for the United States Postal Service for 22 years and retired as Postmaster of the Saunderstown Post Office in 1989 before retiring to Vero Beach, Florida.
