Baxter, Horner each score in 2-0 Skipper victory.
Freshman Olivia Baxter recorded the first goal of her young career and senior Amanda Cirillo stopped the only shot on goal that she saw as the Skippers field hockey team defeated divisional rival Cumberland 2-0 Wednesday night at the Anthony C. Perry Athletic Complex. "This game was very important especially because (Cumberland) is in our division," said NK coach Julie Maguire. "We need all the games within our division that we can get." Just four minutes into the contest, the Skippers took advantage of a penalty corner when junior Taylor Butler ripped a shot that deflected off of a Clipper defender. Baxter positioned herself for a rebound and shot just past the right pad of Cumberland goaltender Rebecca Geddes. The goal gave North a 1-0 …

Three players record multiple point efforts in 4-1 NK victory.
The North Kingstown High School boy's soccer team defeated Central High School by a score of 4-1 Tuesday evening at the Anthony Perry Athletic Complex. "We needed to get off on the right foot and take the weight off our shoulders," said Hess. Coming off back-to-back losses, the Knights entered the game with a handful of disciplinary suspensions and three…

Bishop Hendricken defeats North Kingstown 2-0, giving Hawks head coach Michael Rooney the most wins ever in Rhode Island in boys soccer
The team and the coach shared one thing in common on Monday night. Each of them got a monkey off of their backs. North Kingstown High School's boys soccer team traveled to Bishop Hendricken on Monday night to take on the Hawks. The teams were evenly matched throughout, but the Skippers could not capitalize on their scoring chances. After not scoring in their first two games, Hendricken finally got on the scoreboard, winning 2-0. With just under 12 minutes left in the half, Hendricken got on the scoreboard. Junior Brexton Kinney crossed the ball from the right sideline and …
