Update: 11:30pm As polls closed on Election Night, the mood was sour as Democrats convened at Duffy's Tavern in North Kingstown to view election results. Ultimately, only two of the five elected town council members were Democratic and only one Democrat was elected to the school committee out of four candidates. Republicans also won in State Senatorial District 35 and State Representative District 32 in the RI General Assembly. Losing candidates received reassuring words and handshakes from local supporters. With other statewide election results still pending, all inquired within the crowd declined to comment on the other races.
