The following is a press statement by Mary Road, the executive director of the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County, and Deborah DeBare, the executive director of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence, regarding the alleged domestic violence murder of Allison Taylor. Elder Abuse is on the rise in Rhode Island. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and community of Allison Taylor. Her tragic death, allegedly at the hands of her son, reminds us how far we have to go to achieve a society in Rhode Island that is free of violence in the home. Robert Taylor, 45, is being charged with murder after his mother’s body was found Tuesday.
2 p.m. Wednesday – According to additional reporting by The Providence Journal, Robert Taylor dismembered his mother after killing her, as police found her head and hands severed from her body. The Journal said the information was obtained from the arrest warrant police secured for Taylor. Police said a health worker was at the apartment when they spoke to Taylor, and that Taylor had asked her to bleach down the walls. He allegedly told the worker that his mother had left the apartment and checked herself into rehab. 11:40 a.m. Wednesday – Robert M. Taylor, 45, of 130 Caswell St., Narragansett, is being charged with the murder of his mother, Allison, following a police investigation that began over the weekend. According to a press release…

According to a statement from Narragansett Police Chief Dean Hoxsie, one officer was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment after he was hit during a chase this morning that started in North Kingstown and ended in Narragansett.
11:40 a.m. – Narragansett Police Chief Dean Hoxsie has released a statement about this morning’s hit and run accident, confirming that a Narragansett police officer and the suspects in the chase were both taken to hospitals for treatment. According to Hoxsie, at 8 a.m. Monday, Narragansett officers became involved in a car chase that started in North Kingstown. Hoxsie said the car driven by the suspects U-turned on Boston Neck Road, almost hitting a state police cruiser in the process. From there, Hoxsie said the car entered the Rio Vista neighborhood (Wampum Road) while attempting to flee, and hit a police car and an officer. The car was then followed into Bonnet Shores, where it left the roadway at the Bonnet Shores Community Center. …
