A New Home for the Food Pantry?

Could the food pantry be moving in to the Little Red School House?

  North Kingstown’s food pantry may be migrated north, if a group of volunteers work their magic. At Monday’s town council meeting, Karla Driscoll – former executive director of the NK Chamber of Commerce – shared her vision for the future of the food pantry – and for one of North Kingstown’s vacant buildings. Driscoll, Council Member Carol Hueston and others are looking to form a fundraising group to help move the food pantry into the Little Red School House on School Street. The town-owned building was closed down and winterized after the preschool program, Children’s Workshop, closed down due to financial hardships. What a wonderful idea for the food pantry. It is nice to see the town using vacated buildings instead of letting the rot away. Good thinking for a change. Thumbs up.   more ›
