James B. Kirkpatrick, Jr. of North Kingstown passed away at the age of 63 last week.

Kirkpatrick, Jr. of North Kingstown passed away April 5 at Rhode Island Hospital with his wife, Paula Powers Kirkpatrick, by his side. He was 63 years old. He leaves behind his daughters Faith and Caroline, his sister Dorothy and brother-in-law William O'Donneell as well as nephews William and Andrew O'Donnell. Born in 1949 in Byrn Mawr, PA, he was the son of James B. and Caroline Hoehler Kirkpatrick. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and has been associated with Northwestern Mutual for more than 40 years. An avid gardener, Bill loved flowers, music, opera, and art, but also volunteered for a number of charities helping those less fortunate.
William P. McKiernan, 91, of Quidnessett in North Kingstown passed away March 16. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John F. and Loretta (Mulvey) McKiernan. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Loretta, James, Lawrence, Edward, and Joseph McKiernan, and Margaret Sherman, Mary Flanagan and Rita Mathos. Mr. McKiernan graduated from Classical High School in 1940. He received a Bachelors Degree from Providence College, and his Masters from Catholic University of America. Born in Wiltshire, England, he was the son of the late William W. and Constance (Austin) Worthy. Worthy started his career on Cunard Cruise Ships where he met his wife. Together they owned the former Billy Bud's Pub in New Rochelle, NY, later moving to Rhode Island, where he became manager of the Food and Beverage Division of the former Chateau DeVille. She was wife of the late Todd Sloan. Born in Wyndmoor, PA, Sloan was a master gardener who was happiest in her yard and with her flowers. She volunteered at Kent County Hospital, took pride in her role as office manager for Pinkerton's Security at Quonset, and was a participant in the national women's health study. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary R. (Pierce) Bagely. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Margaret (Donovan) Bagley. (Connery) Johnson. Born in Providence and raised in Warwick, Johnson spent many years on Sunnybrook Drive in North Kingstown with his wife until their retirement to New Hampshire. Johnson was the father of the late Steven and Shirley Johnson.
