Long Road Ahead, But Promise Shown by Girls’ Hockey
The team drops its league opener 8-0, but showed some flashes of competitive hockey.
BURRILLVILLE – The Narragansett, North Kingstown and South Kingstown Storm girls’ hockey team did about as well as they expected to do in their season opener, falling 8-0 to the more experienced Burrillville-Ponaganset co-op. Head coach Edward Curran said that currently, his team is only about six to 10 players deep – some have never even skated before. As a result, he has about a line and a half, and everyone plays for developmental reasons.
