Father-Son Duo, SK Man Charged in Series of Robberies

Three men are facing charges after being connected to robberies in three RI towns.

Police have connected multiple robberies in Exeter, North Kingstown and East Greenwich to three South County men. Authorities had been searching for suspects in the robberies, which began Sunday night at the Shell Station on Ten Rod Road in North Kingstown. Hours later at around 5 a.m., the same suspects reportedly robbed another Shell Station in East Greenwich. According to reports from the East Greenwich Police Department, the suspect was a white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandana to cover his face. He handed the clerk a note demanding money. NK, EG Shell Stations Robbed; Suspects at Large

Police are calling the incident, which took place at around 5 a.m. Monday, a "strong-arm robbery."

A cashier at the East Side Food Mart Shell at 2563 South County Trail in East Greenwich was held up at around 5 a.m. Monday, police report. At around 11 p.m. Sunday, another Shell Station in North Kingstown was also held up. The suspect walked into the EG store and handed the cashier a note that demanded cash, according to Det. Lieutenant Jay Fague. "He did not speak a word. He was in and out in a couple of minutes." Fague called it a strong-arm robbery – no weapon was shown but the suspect had a hand in one of his pockets as if armed. The person was so covered that it wasn't completely clear it was a man, although the cashier said she thought so based on the suspect's eyes. Police are describing the suspect as "an unknown male." EG Police Arrest Suspect In Tuesday Robbery

Police arrest suspect in EG armed robbery.

Police arrested Samuel T. Lemont, 18, of Bayberry Lane in East Greenwich, for the armed robbery of the Main Street convenience store. The robbery took place Tuesday evening in East Greenwichat 9:33 p.m. Lemont allegedly held up the lone employee, departing with an unknown amount of money. The weapon — a semi-automatic handgun — was recovered, according to police. Lemont was arraigned Thursday in Kent County District Court on one count of first degree robbery. If convicted, he would face 10 years to life in prison. East Greenwich police also arrested Trisha M. Newman, 24, of Summer Street in Central Falls,  in connection with a break in at an occupied house on Frenchtown Road in East Greenwich Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. In that …
