Union to Protest Outside Tuesday Night School Board Meeting
The Education Support Professionals (ESP) are protesting Tuesday night.
The North Kingstown Education Support Professionals (ESP) union is staging a protest at Tuesday night's School Committee meeting, according to a release from National Education Association Rhode Island. The union will be outside North Kingstown High School at 6:30 p.m. before the North Kingstown School Committee's 7 p.m. meeting. The union will be protesting the firing and outsourcing of the NK school department's entire custodial staff. According to NEARI's press release, the next bargaining session between ESP and the school department is scheduled for Oct. 29.

FYI, the NKESP is trying to meet to negotiate. Since the workers and the SC were told to go back to the table by the judge on Aug. 28th, the SC has NOT come to the table to negotiate at all. The first available meeting date that they have available is OCTOBER 29TH? Two months have gone by. Since then, my pay is now $200 less per pay period (than last year at this time). $575.00 every 2 weeks. Wow…   more ›
