NK Teen's Recipe For a Fundraiser
A fundraiser that raises money and blood sugar.
Mix one part sugary confestions, one part creativity and one part charity for this fundraising recipe. The Cupcake Wars Fundraiser kicked off its inaugural year recently, hosted by 13-year-old Samantha McGrath of North Kingstown at her home on Beauchamp Drive. McGrath and others cooked up their sugary creations to raise money for the North Kingstown Animal Shelter and the North Kingstown Food Pantry. A panel of judges had the challenge of ranking the cupcakes. Nicolette Naya, 13, won "most Creative" with her Del's lemonade cupcakes. The event raised $125 for shelter.
