Casey Farm Spring Seedling Sale Next Saturday

A seedling sale will be held at Casey Farm next Saturday.

  Casey Farm in Saunderstown will hold its annual Spring Seedling Sale on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Start your culinary garden this spring with Rhode Island Certified Organic vegetable, fruit and herb seedlings featured at Casey Farm's plant sale.  Other items for sale include Vermont maple syrup, coffee, and fresh bakery items.  Tours of the museum and grounds and children’s activities will be offered, and Historic New England members receive a 10 percent discount on all seedlings. Last Chance: Holy Egg Hunt

Casey Farm hosts an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Events come and go all the time. How often do you wish you had heard about something special before it happened? That's where we come in. Each week North Kingstown Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come. Today marks the beginning of Holy Week. While there are sure to be plenty of activities at local churches throughout the community, Casey Farm is hosting a more secular activity sure to delight the little ones. Children of all ages are welcome to Casey Farm, 2325 Boston Neck Road in Saunderstown, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for its annual East Egg Hunt. Celebrating The Bounty Of Summer

You say tomato, I say tomahto...either way it is all delicious.

Tomato Day 2011 was a smashing success with approximately 2,000 people in attendance at the Coastal Growers Farmer's Market at Casey Farm on Saturday. Thirty varieties of Rhode Island-grown tomatoes were available for tasting under the tomato tent during the event. Examples included Goldie, Black Prince, Candy Stripe, Green Zebra, Cherokee Purple, Tigerella and Defiant. For those not familiar with any tomato past Beefsteak or Big Boy, there was a book on hand to peruse: "The Heirloom Tomato – From Garden to Table," by Amy Goldman. Tomato Day began as a way to promote the new farmer's market at Casey Farm eight years ago. The only time it wasn't held was two years ago when the state was experiencing a bout of tomato blight. 5 Things: Girls Ice Hockey, Summer Concert & Nighttime At The Farm

Five things to know for August 9.

Could girls hockey players be getting a league of their own? The North Kingstown School Committee will consider approving North Kingstown's participation in an all-female co-op hockey team with Narragansett and South Kingstown. Both of the other school committees have approved the endeavor. Along with the girls ice hockey team consideration, the NK School Committee will discuss former superintendent Phil Thornton's severance and an update on filling the position. (Assistant Superintendent Phil Auger is currently serving as interim superintendent and hopes to take on the position permanently.)
