Bookkeeper for Gov. Sundlun Arrested On Theft, Forgery Charges

A former bookkeeper for the late Governor Bruce Sundlun and others has been arrested.

The Rhode Island State Police have arrested a woman suspected of theft and forgery after allegedly victimizing an East Greenwich business, owned by the wife of the late Rhode Island Gov. Bruce Sundlun. Teresa A. Roby, 37 of 775 Old Baptist Rd. in North Kingstown is being charged with three counts of larceny of over $500, one count of uttering and publishing forged checks and one count of uttering and publishing forged debit cards receipts. The State Police began to investigate Roby after Susan Sundlun (wife of the late governor and owner of East Greenwich Photo) filed a complaint against Roby – who was the bookkeeper for the business as well as for the Sundluns. Former Governor Sundlun Passes Away At 91

According to media reports, former Rhode Island Governor Bruce Sundlun has passed away.

According to The Providence Journal, former Rhode Island Governor Bruce G. Sundlun has passed away today at the age of 91. For a full story from the Journal, click here. The Journal also did an exhaustive profile of Sundlun and his life at 86, which you can read here. Sundlun served as governor from 1991 to 1995, after Edward DiPrete. He was known for his decorated military service, his career as a lawyer, and his sometimes eccentric and colorful personality and behavior. Sundlun was married five times, and famously in 1993, used a shotgun to clear his property of racoons he thought were rabid.
