Threatening Message Found in NKHS Bathroom Deemed Not Credible

Police are still investigating the message found in a stall in the girls' bathroom.

  A threatening message found in a bathroom stall at North Kingstown High School yesterday has been deemed "not credible" following an investigation by school officials and the North Kingstown Police Department. The message was found in one of the school's bathrooms around 8 a.m. Wednesday, prompting school administration to contact the NKPD. Following last week's mass shooting in Newtown, CT, school officials decided to notify parents via email about the incident. According to School Superintendent Phil Auger, these types of situations are not uncommon in North Kingstown. Police Investigate Bomb Threat at Lowe's

Police suspect a worker placed a threatening call to the closing hardware store.

A bomb threat that cleared Lowe's in North Kingstown for hours may have been made by a disgruntled employee, according to reports. At around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, the North Kingstown Fire Department received a call from an individual claiming that a friend who was once employed at Lowe's had placed a bomb in the store. North Kingstown fire and police officials evacuated the building before members of the Rhode Island Fire Marshal Bomb Squad arrived. After crews were unable to find anything suspicious, employees and customers were allowed to return to the building.
