North Kingstown saw heavy snow and wind in the season's first storm.
After a few false alarms this past month, Mother Nature served Rhode Island its first snowstorm of the season Sunday night. North Kingstowners awoke Monday morning to find 10 to 12 inches of snow. Most of NK's roads were cleared by Monday afternoon — yet a parking ban is still in effect as of 3 p.m. on Monday — after a long day and night for the Department of Public Works. The plows hit the roads Sunday morning and continued throughout the night. Numerous downed trees and poles were reported, including a fallen tree on Post Road near Camp Avenue.
