Tired of all the wet stuff falling from the sky? Might be a good time to catch up on your reading!

Too much of anything is never a good thing, am I right?  I won’t waste time talking about overindulging in greasy fries, Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food or my favorite beverage of choice – Diet Coke. (C’mon, you all know me better than that!)  Nope—I’m talking about those droplets of water that have been falling from the dank, gray skies for what—the past month or so?  Ok, that’s stretching it, but it sure did feel like forever, doesn’t it?  Normally the weather doesn’t affect my mood much, but during baseball season it’s a completely different story, and I have to believe I’m not alone wondering when this very long season of bat and ball will come to a merciful end.  And summer baseball hasn’t even started! Skippers Take Regular Season Title In Final Inning

North Kingstown wins the Division I-South regular season title with help from Joe Haley's home run in the top of the seventh and solid defense.

EAST GREENWICH – With a Division I-South regular season title on the line, some drama and intensity are certainly expected in a high-stakes game. North Kingstown (14-4 Division I-South) edged East Greenwich, 6-5, thanks to Joe Haley’s two-run home run in the top of the seventh to clinch first place in Division I-South. “They had come with curveballs at me the whole game,” Haley said. “I just tried to square one up and it just happened to go over the fence.” Haley’s homer capped a strong finish by the Skippers, who overcame a 4-0 margin in the third inning to break the tie for first place between them and the Avengers in the division as the teams head into the postseason.
