Five things to know for Nov. 6.

1.  It's Election Day! Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find your polling location and other voting information with our voting guide here. 2.  When you head to the polls today, bring a canned/non-perishable food item with you. The North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce will be collecting food in bins at each polling location to be donated to the NK Food Pantry. 3.  As the day goes on, check back in with North Kingstown Patch for updates and results. 5 Things: Children and Pets Perform

Here are 5 Things to know in North Kingstown today.

1. The North Kingstown Recreation Department and the Missoula Children’s Theatre are scheduled to hold auditions on Monday, August 13 from 1-3 p.m. for the group's upcoming performance of The Tortoise Versus The Hare. Preregistration is required for this audition. Children 6 to 16 years old can participate. The performance will take place on Saturday, August 18 at 4 and 7 p.m. at North Kingstown High School. Tickets for the performance can be purchased at the NK Recreation Office at Town Hall prior to the performance or at the door the day of the performance. So how many of you stuck with your Lent resolutions? 2.  The joint town council and school committee budget hearing on Monday, April 9 has been moved from Beechwood Senior Center to the North Kingstown High School auditorium. This winter NKHS wrestling had I believe two students competing for state titles, basketball was ranked #1 in the tournament, Girls swimming came in 2nd at the state championships.
