Five Things: Teen Reading & Rain

Your guide for life in North Kingstown today, July 12.

‘Beneath the Surface’ at Willett Free Library: The 2013 Summer Reading Program for Teens begins today and runs Fridays at 4:30 p.m. through Aug. 2.

Bosun needs a new home: Norm MacKay and his dog, Bosun, were Wickford Village staples. Norm was the harbormaster for years and Bosun was a fixture at the marina greeting boaters and looking for treats. Unfortunately Norm passed away about 2 weeks ago and now Bosun needs a new home. It must be a household without any other animals (especially NO cats). He is 12 years old, a schipperke, and his breed typically lives till 16 or so. We only have a short window to find a place for this handsome gentlemen to live out his golden years. Send your phone number or email address to RI Pet Network if you are interested.

Weather: More rain today, and cooler. A high of 75 degrees.
