Recognition Of Stony Lane’s Blue Ribbon: Stony Lane Elementary School was named a Blue Ribbon School earlier this fall. Tonight, the School Committee recognizes the school. At Stony Lane Elementary School. 7 p.m.

Santa at Biomes: Santa will be taking a special trip down from the North Pole to visit Biomes tonight! They will have a professional photographer to take pictures with Santa and will print the photo for you while you wait. Pets are allowed. Special holiday craft to make. Pre-registration is required. $10 per person ($8 for members). Children under 3 free.

Brown Madrigal Singers at the library: The Brown University Madrigal Singers will be performing at the NK Free Library. They sing in an eclectic variety of styles ranging from Renaissance to modern and will perform a special repertoire of holiday and seasonal music. Please register.

On Thursday …

Emily Dickenson’s birthday party: The NK Free Library is celebrating Emily Dickenson’s birtday. Poet Emily Dickinson was born Dec. 10, 1830, in Amherst Mass. Join Poet Emily Dickinson was born December 10, 1830, in Amherst Massachusetts.  Join Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) member and Dickinson enthusiast Susan Berman to celebrate the poet’s birthday (two days late) by enjoying cakes and tea and reading some of her poems. Bring one or two of your favorites to read, or just come to hear others read. Register please.

Intro to Homeschooling: ENRICHri, a nonprofit secular organization, provides support and guidance for homeschooling families in Southern New England. Bev Burgess, State Coordinator for ENRICHri, and Melissa Robb, a homeschooler with six years of experience and an ENRICHri Board member,  will present this program that covers the basics of homeschooling. 10 a.m.
