State Rep Works to Fill Food Pantry

State Rep. Doreen Costa is organizing an event to restock the North Kingstown Food Pantry's shelves.

The North Kingstown Food Pantry began this summer in the worst way possible – with completely bare and empty shelves, having to turn away needy families for the first time ever. Though the community mobilized in getting the word out and soliciting donations, the growing need for the food pantry is putting a strain on its shelves and help is still needed.

After seeing the empty cupboards at the pantry, State Rep. Doreen Costa (R - North Kingstown, Exeter) has organized a food drive on July 14 from noon to 2 p.m. at in North Kingstown.

"Even though North Kingstown is known as an affluent community, we still have people in need and we have to help them too." said Costa.
