Cross Pollinated Business in Southern RI

We have more power together than alone.  It's common knowledge that a group can have a bigger voice than an individual and that very theory is being practiced by hundreds of RI business people.  

Maybe it is because we are RI'ers and networking is what comes to us naturally. Whatever the reason – geography, the economy or psychology – it is working! I see it in all the different business organizations I belong to, whether it is a chamber of commerce or a networking group, people are excited to help one another.  

There is love in the air. I'm a "sister" and am very involved in a growing professional women's networking organization, so it feels odd to say there's a sort of "brotherhood" movement happening, but there is. There's such an authenticity to the “Giver's Gain” philosophy because when you do something positive, for the right reasons, with no expectation of getting something in return you are sure to be rewarded!

Southern RI is a close-knit community full of entrepreneurs and hundreds of small businesses and the support from the community is overwhelming. I recently launched a start-up and am so grateful for all of the support I am continuing to receive from my friends and colleagues. I often share my personal belief that "life is about the relationships you make" and that networking is a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and organizations: that a friend is someone whom you know, like and trust. Wouldn't we all prefer to do business with people we know like and trust?! It's happening in Southern RI and I am feeling very grateful to be a part of this wonderful business community!
