Fireworks, Lafayette Band Plan Independence Day Celebrations

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will present its free annual Independence Day concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the North Kingstown Town Beach, 15 Beach St. The musicians are led by conductor Beth Clarke. The concert of patriotic music will be followed by North Kingstown's traditional fireworks display, beginning at 9 p.m.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to relax and join in the family fun.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded 130 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
