SK Dominates Annual Turkey Bowl

North Kingstown fell to the Rebels 38-18 Thursday.

After giving up a long touchdown run on the Rebels' first possession, North Kingstown battled back with a quick strike of their own, but it wasn't enough as the Skippers fell 38-18 to South Kingstown in the annual Thanksgiving Day day Thursday.

Quarterback Jacob Morris hooked up with receiver Alex Young for a 67-yard touchdown to pull within 1 early in the fourth quarter, but that was all the offense could muster until a couple garbage time scores in the fourth quarter. Late touchdown runs by Justin Zeramby, named the Skippers offensive MVP, and Alex Sabitoni brought the final score closer, but South Kingstown dominated the game from the start.

Running back Sean Conley, who also earned offensive MVP honors, ran 65 yards on SK's second play from scrimmage to give the Rebels the early lead. Quarterback John Curzake connected with Ryan Sweenor for a 25-yard score on the next possession, and the rout was on. Conley led the way with 88 yards and a touchdown on 6 carries, while fullback Nick Neill added 49 yards and a score on 10 carries and running back/defensive back Nick Cruz chipped in with a 21-yard touchdown run of his own.
