NK's McAdams Named Northeast 10 Rookie Of The Week

The freshman runs cross country for Stonehill College.

Stonehill College freshman Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week, the league announced this week.

McAdams earned this distinction for the first time in her career, following her seventh place finish at Sunday's Northeast-10 Championship, held on the campus of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Stonehill captured its fifth consecutive conference title, and 12th championship since 2000 with its decisive victory. The freshman was one of four Skyhawks to finish in the top-10 at the race, and the first overall freshman to finish, doing so in a personal best time of 18:40. McAdams' seventh-place effort also earned her First Team All-Northeast-10 honors.

The 2013 North Kingstown High School graduate has been impressive all season for the Skyhawks, beginning with a tenth-place finish in her first collegiate meet at the Shacklette Invitational on September 7th. She followed that up by posting a time of 23:44.08 at the 6-kilometer Division II Challenge on September 14th, good for 30th place, and then ran to an 11th place finish at the 33rd Annual Codfish Bowl (5k) on September 28th, doing so in 19:39.

While at North Kingstown High, McAdams was named team MVP in track and cross country all four years. She was named All-State in cross country as a freshman, junior, and senior, and also earned All-New England honors as a senior.
