NK's Beisel Entered in 9 Events at US Olympic Trials

North Kingstown native Elizabeth Beisel has been entered into nine events at the Olympic Swimming Trials next week.

North Kingstown's may be bound for the Olympics again, according to the Providence Journal.

Beisel, a 2010 graduate of , has been entered in to nine events at next week's Olympic Swimming Trials in Nebraska. The top two finishers in each event will go on to the U.S. Olympic swimming team.

Of the nine events, Beisel will compete in her best event – the 400-meter individual medley. Last year, she won the event at the world championships in Shanghai, China and is seeded number one in the event. The heats are scheduled for Monday morning with the finals at night.

Beisel will also compete in the 100 meter backstroke, 400 meter freestyle, 200 meter freestyle, 800 meter freestyle, 200 meter backstroke and 200 meter individual medley.

Last year, Beisel won three gold medals (in 400 and 200 meter individual medleys and 200 meter backstroke)  in the national championships in California.

Beisel currently attends the University of Florida in Gainesville and swims for the Florida Gators swimming and diving team.
