NK Nabs State Title in Girls Gymnastics

The North Kingstown High School girls gymnastics team won the state championship, defeating La Salle Academy.

 

The North Kingstown High School girls gymnastics team has won the Division I state title, unseating La Salle Academy's decade-long hold on the title.

The Skippers were led by sophomore Allison DiBiase (36.175) and senior Brianna Calise (35.225) led the team, finishing second and fourth respectively in the all-around component. In total, NKHS scored 138.85 while La Salle scored 137.5 for second place and Barrington (the regular season champion) with 136.375 for third.

This is the first gymnastics state title loss for La Salle in 11 years. The last time to win a state championship was NKHS in the 2001-2002 season.
