NK Athletes Break State Record for 4x800 Relay at Nationals

The boys ran the 4x800 in a third-place winning time of 7:37.62, earning them All-American crowns and shattering the old Rhode Island record by nine seconds.

The North Kingstown High School 4x800 team of Joe Craven, Dallin Smith, Zach Emrich and Ian Connors put in a remarkable showing at the Outdoor New Balance National Track and Field Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, last weekend.

The boys ran the 4x800 in a third-place winning time of 7:37.62, earning them All-American crowns and shattering the old Rhode Island record by nine seconds.

The previous record was set in 2012 by Chariho at the Penn Relays.

Emrich anchored the team with a 1:49.22 leg. Connors ran it in 1:57.51 and Craven had a 1:55.21 split.
