NKHS Spirit Week Kicks Off Monday [poll]

Tug of War contest, dodgeball, homecoming games, twin days and more.

This Monday kicks off the start of Spirit Week at ol. From theme days to dodgeball to the homecoming dance, students and staff at the high school have a jam-packed, school-spirit inspired week. Check out the schedule below.

Monday

Pajama Day  Fuzzy slippers? Red Sox sweat pants? Or your one-piece, pink bunny pajama outfit? Wear your pajamas to school today. (Note: outfits must fit dress code. No nighties allowed.)

Dodgeball Tournament  Sponsored by the Physical Education Department, this event kicks off at 6 p.m. in the high school gym.

Tuesday

Twin Day  Find a buddy and dress alike.

Wednesday

Sport Jersey Day  Rep your favorite sports team by donning a jersey today.

Powderpuff Flag Football Games  The girls take the field while the boys take over cheering duties for the annual powderpuff games. The freshmen take on the sophomores at 6 p.m. followed by the juniors against the seniors at 7:30. Tickets are $2 for students ($1 with student ID) and $4 for adults.

Thursday

80s Day  From Michael Jackson to Cyndi Lauper to Journey, rock out your best 80s apparel today.

Friday

Class Color Day (T-shirts will be on sale all week during lunch for $6.)

  • Freshmen - green
  • Sophomores - blue
  • Juniors - red
  • Seniors - black/gold/white

Homecoming Pep Rally  Get pumped for the night's homecoming game at this pep rally, complete with a routines from the NKHS cheerleaders and dance team, the tug of war contest, introduction of the fall athletic teams and introduction of the homecoming court.

Homecoming Football Game  The boys football team takes on Cranston East at 7 p.m. for this year's homecoming game. Don't miss the class parade at half-time.

Saturday

Homecoming Dance  This year's dance will be held in the gym and run from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets must be bought in advance for $10. Dance contracts and guest passes must also be submitted to get tickets. Take your homecoming pictures beforehand at 6:30 in the cafeteria. Semi-formal attire is required.
