NKHS Cupcake Wars Sells Out

The cupcake fundraiser held at North Kingstown High School sold out in less than two hours.

 

North Kingstown apparently loves its cupcakes. a fundraiser hosted by North Kingstown High School's Class of 2015, was so successful that vendors sold out in a matter of hours.

The scheduled four-hour event ended in less than two hours after more than 1,000 cupcakes were sold.

Thirteen groups participated in the competition and were broken into five divisions – professional, community, high school, middle school and elementary schools.

A panel of judges (including myself!) tasted and scored each cupcake based on taste and appearance as well as display and theme.

The winners were:

People's Choice – LeAnne Gooding, Hannah Blackwood, Megan Dellinger, Mariela Lucaj

Professional/Community – Just a Cuppa (Christine and Peter Trask, Patty Hines)

High School/Middle School – Seasonal Sweets (Samantha McGrath, Nicoletta Maya and Ella Valatka)

Elementary School – tie between Heart Healthy & Loving It and Smore-a-Licious
