NK Student Awarded Dunkin' Donuts Scholarship

Stephanie Anderson of North Kingstown received a $1,000 scholarship from Dunkin' Donuts.

More well known for providing customers with their caffeine boosts, Dunkin' Donuts is offering a financial boost to several students in the region as part of its scholarship program.

Stephanie Andersen, a recent graduate of , was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Dunkin' Donuts franchisees of Rhode Island and Bristol County in Massachusetts as part of the 17th Annual Dunkin' Donuts Scholarship program. This year, the coffee chain giant awarded a scholarship to one member of the senior class of each high school in the state and Bristol County. Recipients needed to display leadership qualities, excel academically and be involved in the community.

The scholarship program has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships over the past 17 years.

“Since the inception of this program, the need for scholarships has increased exponentially,” said Rob Batista, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. “We are so proud to offer this initiative to our loyal guests who support us each day, and we hope that these scholarships will help ease the financial burden of achieving a college education for local families.”
