The 97 members of the cast and crew have been practicing nearly nonstop since their return from Christmas vacation, including one Saturday practice that ran until 1 a.m. Unlike past years, musical director Norma Caiazza opted to double-cast this year due to Footloose's demanding vocals. (In other words, expect to see two Rens and two Ariels on the stage this weekend.)

In a peculiar twist, NKHS recently went through it's own dancing controversy this year as administrators instituted a . The choice of musical was not a statement by students, however, as the decision was made over the summer – well before the new dance policy was established.
