Fishing Cove Students 'Read Across America'...Literally

Classrooms on opposite sides of the country were able to virtually read to each other last week.

When it came to celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America last week, two classrooms on opposite sides of the country took the phrase "read across America" literally.

Mrs. Warburton's second grade class at Fishing Cove Elementary School used Skype to read, chat and play games with students at Reed Elementary School in Tiburon, CA.

Students played a Dr. Seuss version of tic-tac-toe, exclusively featuring Dr. Seuss related trivia questions. Following the intense game of tic-tac-toe, students had time to chat with their counterparts on the other coast, sharing stories of hurricanes, snow and the appearance (or lack thereof) of daffodils.
