Two Men Indicted In N. Kingstown Drug Bust

Two men arrested in one of the biggest drug busts in state history have been indicted.

A federal grand jury returned an indictment today against two men arrested in January in connection with the and more than $1.2 million in cash in a North Kingstown warehouse – one of the largest drug busts in state history.

U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha and Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin announced the federal indictments of Armando Saucedo, 30, and Andrew Rios, 39, of California on charges of conspiracy to possess five or more kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of five or more kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm.

The third man arrested in connection with the drug bust – Adilson Reyes, 29, of Utah – was charged on Apr. 13 with conspiracy to possess five or more kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Last September, officials began an investigation into the trafficking of cocaine from outside Rhode Island into the state, leading to the monitoring of several hotels in West Greenwich and Pawtucket as well as a warehouse in North Kingstown on Dry Bridge Road.

After months of investigation, federal, state and local law enforcement agendt seized 65 kilograms of cocaine, $1.2 million in cash and a firearm from the warehouse and two vehicles.

Federal prosecutor Assistant U.S. Attorney Sandra Hebert and state prosecutor Assistant Attorney General Paul F. Daly, Jr. are all three defendants.
