When I read some of these comments it is apparent which party the no-name writers belongs to. I have served with Mrs. Avanzato for the last four years and your negative comments do not hold any truth. It is puzzeling why you nameless people don't use your name or are you to ashamed to have your neighbors know how you really feel? You have all of the answers and could save our town all kinds of money but you won't put your name on a ballot and run. You chose to slander people's good name because you can do it here without recourse...very brave of you...and it is because of people like you that it is difficult to get good people to serve and run and then you blame the politicians for everything that is wrong. With folks like you we are lucky to have poeple like Mrs. Avanzato working to protect our school system. Thanks for your kind words.

She was one of a number of people (but not all that many) who were willing to contribute personal time, evenings, weekends, toward cleaning up our schools and town when we had some real bad things being voted, then once on the committee voted appropriately when called upon. I could not imagine Avanzato voting something wasteful, to benefit herself, a friend or making any kind of bad deal. We are way ahead of the game now than before and I wish people would make sure and make note of that.

Just because you use your name, when it suits you, Mr. Welch that doesn't make you holier than thou! You have more alias' than anyone I know. Not long before you mess up though. And you can deny till the cow's come home......we all know better! As for Mrs. A I suppose I would have tenacity to if I gained $20K. OH, I forgot it's about the kids.....ya right!

I will definitely be voting for Lynda Avanzato as she has had the courage to make the difficult choices. She is a fiscal conservative who had the courage to vote to privatize custodians and rein in spending on the ESP contract despite ongoing harassment by the union. In the past, she has tirelessly worked to expose and eliminate systemic spending abuses within the school department and held the responsible parties accountable. To address comments regarding “unemployment”- Mrs. Avanzato chose to put her legal career on hold to devote all her energies to raising her son, a decision I applaud. She has devoted countless hours to volunteering in the schools and the community and this had given her the opportunity to understand the issues from the inside out. She understands that the purpose of the school system is to educate kids; that it is not a jobs program for adults. She is ethical, honest, intelligent, and has the courage to speak her mind and take action. I encourage anyone who does not know Mrs. Avanzato to review her voting record.

Lynda was the second on John's motion to fire 26 loyal custodial employees and as such put their families in poverty regardless of the fact that the union team offered more than enough money in give backs to pay for them. I guess we both know a different side of Lynda.
