NKHS Hockey, Gymnastics Hope For Funding This Year

One year after the School Committee cut funding for hockey and gymnastics teams at North Kingstown High School, the two teams are holding fundraising events for the coming year, but also hoping that school funding will be at least partially restored.

Police Log: Intoxication And Exasperation

11:44 a.m. – The commodore of the Saunderstown Yacht Club told police there had been numerous complaints against a man who lives on Ferry Road, that he was smoking on the yacht club's property and walking his unleashed dogs there. The club's board asked police to issue a no-trespass order to the Ferry Road man. Police talked to the man, who said he understood and would comply.

Town Approves New Economic Development Panel For Wickford

Ellen Waxman is happy. Not only did the town hire someone – Paige Bronk – to focus on economic development, but the town's Economic Development Advisory Board (EDAB) is vibrant again and it now has a new board focusing exclusively on the Wickford economy.

Police Log: Naked Fury, Disturbing Dream

7:42 p.m. – A North Kingstown woman told police her sister found a shoe with remains of a human foot in it while walking her dog at Rome Point. When police talked to the sister, of Narragansett, she said it was only a dream. She admitted neglecting to tell her sister it had been a dream.
