How Would You Grade North Kingstown’s Snow Plowing This Winter?

Give your praise, voice your concern and let the town know what you think about snow plowing this winter.

The past three weeks have seen one snowstorm after another barrel up the east coast and dump more snow onto the area.

Plowing snow is often a thankless job. There is rarely praise, but there are few things that raise a person’s ire more than snow-covered streets days after a snowstorm has passed.

With us now deep into February and after three weeks of snowstorms, we want to know: How would you rate North Kingstown's snow removal this winter?

Let us know in the comments section below. Give your praise, voice your concern and let the town know what you think about snow plowing this winter

Good when they do show up but winter has been tough.

terrible the last storm but better this storm, not much better but better

Better during the last storms, however plugging up the storm drains does not help when it melts.

They plowed?

Terrible the last two storms. Maybe they are trying to save money? Pretty good before that.

Good the first storm but terrible this last one. Until today Camp Ave still was not finished. I can not even walk on my road the ice is so bad. I know it can be a tough job.

this winter has had a lot of challenges and the lack of salt/sand now has made it worse. generally I think the grade for the whole winter would be a C+.

At least in my neck of the woods they've done a pretty decent job of keeping the roads clear and the storm drains uncovered. My neighbor was upset though because they plowed about 3 feet into their property along the road and sheared off a huge swath of turf the entire length of their property. Does the town fix stuff like that?

I think the people who plow nead some praise! if anyone out there has ever plowed for a living.you would know that it is not an easy job. its been a long winter and too much snow and ice and running low on salt and sand. so with that i say Thank,s guy,s.Good job!!!!!!

Outstanding!! These men/women must be exhausted from all the hours... I only have praise and no complaints
observer February 20, 2014 at 11:59 AM
Matt outstanding, you must not get around town much. It might be time to look into contracting the whole thing out next year.

Good except they didn't do Stuart drive off of Cranston circle this year

I plow snow for private accounts in NK. This last storm I actually had to plow a road before I got to a customer because the town did not plow it. It was not Stuart drive. There were many areas of the town that were not plowed. It has been a long winter but people still have to go to work.

Here's an idea. The next time we have a snow storm, maybe Lizzie and her pal Carol and the other TC members can get in their cars and drive around the neighborhoods in town and see what is really going on. (Wait...Liz sold her house...does she still live in town?). They can take some cameras along with them and post pictures on the patch along with some commentary on what they found. Of course, any TC member who really cared about the taxpayers in this town would have done that long ago. The problem with lousy snow removal is not a new one.

No problem until this last storm on Tuesday. They did all the streets in our neighborhood except mine. Up till that point, they had done very well. Disappointed this time.

Hate to say it, but in some areas, not good at all. Thick snow remained on the road.

They need to slow down... Who ever plowed Camp Ave last storm was going so fast he took out mail boxes. And I had barely time to get out of the way before getting covered in ice from them. I was shoveling my driveway and every time I cleaned the way to get out of my drive way it would get pushed back in. Being a senior and a women it isn't easy shoveling.

Saturday evening, plow truck comes up Daniel Dr with salt spreader on full blast and plow blade up. It took all week for the 2+ inches of snow to melt. I wish he had his blade down and the salt off.
