High Winds Forecast Through Afternoon
Heavy rain expected to continue throughout the day.
The National Weather Service reports there's a wind advisory for North Kingstown and much of the surrounding area through 3 p.m.
The strongest winds are forecast for 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 45 mph are possible during this time period. These strong winds could cause some power outages today.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert for the area, noting rain will continue throughout the day, possibly becoming heavy a times, causing minor urban and poor drainage flooding in some spots.
