District Court Log: April 26 and 27, 2011

A wrap-up of court activity.

WAKEFIELD – The following cases were heard in Fourth Division District Court:

  • Irving Elliot Bonney, 54, of 13 State St., Apt. #c, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest to North Kingstown police charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. For the DWI charge, Bonney was ordered to serve a year of probation and a one-year suspended sentence, to pay a $100 fine and $680.50 in assessments, to complete 10 hours of community service and to attend DWI school. For the marijuana charge, he was ordered to complete substance abuse treatment. According to court records, Bonney has four DWI charges since 1991. However, because this was his first in five years, stricter sentencing guidelines could not be used. In return for his pleas, an additional charge of driving in possession of a controlled substance was dismissed.
  • Thomas Nathan Shellman, 28, formerly of 90 Pond St., West Warwick, and now of 30 Lang Drive, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of driving while intoxicated. He was ordered to serve a year of probation, to pay a $100 fine and $680.50 in assessments, to complete 10 hours of community service, to surrender his license for four months and to attend DWI school. In return for his plea, an additional charge of driving with a suspended license, second offense, was dismissed. According to court records, this is Shellman’s second DWI, but because the prior offense was in 2004 – more than five years ago – stricter sentencing guidelines were not used.
  • Josef C. Antinucci, 43, of 50 Liberty Church Road, Exeter, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of driving while intoxicated. H was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $725.50 in assessments, to complete 20 hours of community service, to surrender his license for three months and to attend DWI school.
  • Steven P. Smith, 41, formerly of 211 New London Turnpike, Richmond, and now of 36 Harkness St., Providence, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of driving while intoxicated. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine and $680.50 in assessments, to complete 10 hours of community service, to surrender his license for three months and to attend DWI school.
  • Patrick M. Allienello, 47, of 212 Bellevue Court, Narragansett, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of driving while intoxicated. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine and $680.50 in assessments, to complete 10 hours of community service, to surrender his license for three months, and to attend DWI school.
  • David Arkins, 21, of 75 Sawyer St., Providence, pleaded no contest to three North Kingstown police charges of shoplifting. According to court records, Arkins shoplifted . He was ordered to serve a year of probation, to pay $929.36 in restitution, and a no-trespass order was enacted between Arkins and Walmart.
  • David W. Steger, 35, of 41 Chiswick Road, Warwick, pleaded no contest to two North Kingstown police charges of assault. He was ordered to serve a year of probation and a one-year suspended sentence, and to complete domestic violence counseling. In return for his plea, additional charges of domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone and disorderly conduct were dismissed. A no-contact order was enacted between Steger and a 28-year-old woman.
  • Reann Katherine Katt, 20, of 7 Derby Ave., Johnston, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of shoplifting. She was ordered to pay $145 restitution to Kohl’s for three shirts, and to also make a $145 donation to the Violent Crimes Indemnity Fund. A no-trespass order was also enacted between Katt and the store, and the charge will be filed for one year.
  • Skye Elizabeth Senik, 19, of 7 Derby Ave., Johnston, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of shoplifting. She was ordered to pay $57 restitution for a bra and a container of makeup. The charge will be filed for one year, and a no-trespass order was enacted between Senik and Kohl’s.
  • Keith Henry Silva, 38, of 126 Pendar Road, Apt. #4, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest a North Kingstown police charge of assault. He was ordered to serve a year of probation, and to complete domestic violence and substance abuse counseling. In return for his plea, an additional charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed.
  • Benjamin Francis Polom, 20, of 48 Ashton Ave., North Kingstown, pleaded no contest to a . He was ordered to make a $200 donation to the Violent Crimes Indemnity Fund and to complete 20 hours of community service. The charge will be filed for one year. In return for his plea, additional charges of possession of a weapon – brass knuckles – and driving in possession of a controlled substance were dismissed.
  • Kerry L. Ohler, 41, formerly of 395 Annaquatucket Road, Apt. #6B, North Kingstown, and now of 1186 Post Road, Warwick, pleaded no contest to a North Kingstown police charge of . The charge will be filed for one year, and Ohler was ordered to undergo mental health and substance abuse treatment. In return for her plea, additional charges of assault and disorderly conduct were dismissed.
  • against Alissa Sherice Ohler, 18, of 395 Annaquatucket Road, North Kingstown, were dismissed. According to court records, Ohler made a $100 donation to the Violent Crimes Indemnity Fund and completed 20 hours of community service.
  • Jose Misael Benitez, 27, of 80 Linwood Ave., Providence, pleaded no contest to a Rhode Island State Police charge emanating from the Wickford barracks of driving without a license. He was ordered to pay a $250 fine.
  • A North Kingstown police charge of against Michael A. Monteiro, 21, of 101 Leading St., Johnston, was dismissed. According to court records, Monteiro made a $100 donation to the Violent Crimes Indemnity Fund.
