A wrap-up of court activity.

WAKEFIELD – The following cases were heard in Fourth Division District Court:

  • Christopher P. Maxwell, 25, of 114 Kingswood Road, North Kingstown, pleaded no contest to a Rhode Island State Police charge emanating from the Wickford barracks of driving while intoxicated. He was ordered to pay a $200 fine and $680.50 in assessments, to surrender his license for four months, to serve a year of probation, and to complete 20 hours of community service, substance abuse counseling and DWI school. In return for his plea, additional charges of possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and driving in possession of a controlled substance were dismissed.
  • Matthew J. Schroeder, 24, of 109 Sunderland Road, Exeter, pleaded no contest to a Rhode Island State Police charge emanating from the Wickford barracks of driving while intoxicated. He was ordered to pay a $500 fine, to surrender his license for 45 days, to complete 50 hours of community service and to undergo a substance abuse assessment.
  • Timothy C. Riel, 28, of 58 Cherry Hill Ave., Woonsocket, pleaded no contest to a Rhode Island State Police charge emanating from the Wickford barracks of driving with a suspended license, fifth offense. He was ordered to pay a $350 fine and to serve a year of probation. Riel is the editor of The Jamestown Press.
