6 Kid-Friendly Events Happening Over April Vacation
Nothing planned for April vacation? We have six kid-friendly events happening right here in town.
Panicking about what to do with the kids over April vacation next week? Well, don't panic. Please.
Why? Because we love you so much, we've put together six kid-friendly events happening next week – all right here in North Kingstown.
Wickford Daffodil Days
Saturday, April 14 at 8 a.m. through Sunday, April 15 at 5 p.m. in Wickford Village

Help usher in the change of the season at this year’s Daffodil Days. On Saturday, catch a spring fashion show featuring recycled and free trade products (2 p.m. in Updike Park) and an antique car show (weather permitting). On Sunday, bring your (leashed) pet for a “Daffy Dog” parade at noon starting at St. Paul’s. Also on Sunday, take the “Women’s Roles in Wickford Over the Centuries” tour with local historian Tim Cranston (starting at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church). Also, check out the children’s art exhibit with spring-themed art from local preschoolers on display in merchant windows throughout the village.

Stop at the library for vacation craft. Materials will be available to make creations at the back table in the Young Readers’ area. No registration necessary.
Wednesday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the North Kingstown Free Library
This visual program entertains with experiments on water, air and electricity. For ages 6 and up. Register by calling 401-294-3306 ext. 5.
Friday, April 20 at 2:30 p.m. at the North Kingstown Free Library
Project Chick returns to the library this Thursday. Learn all about the chickens raised at Casey Farm. (And yes, the baby chicks will be available for petting.) Please register by calling 401-294-3306 ext. 5.
Thursday, April 19 at 2 p.m & 3 p.m. at the North Kingstown Free Library
Can’t make it up to the zoo this week? Let the zoo come to you with the Roger Williams’ Zoomobile. For ages 5 and up, kids get to explore various habitats and the animals that call them home. Space is limited, so register by calling 401-294-3306 ext. 5.
Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at Annaquatucket Road and Featherbed Lane
The North Kingstown Land Conservancy is celebrating Earth Day by hosting a clean-up event at its Featherbed Lane/Annaquatucket Road property. For those wishing to help, we suggest bringing (is possible) work gloves, bug spray and other yard tools (ex. rakes, hoes, etc.) Refreshments will be provided. .
